Airline Operational Resilience

Airline efficiency and resilience are more important than ever before, as airlines operate in an ever increasingly congested, legislative and cost focused external environment. In early 2019, Innovare was commissioned by a major European carrier to develop and subsequently carry out an extensive portfolio of performance improvement, cost efficiency and business change work-packages which would span across their whole European Network operation.

As we all know, time is money therefore after initial fast-time exploratory investigations by the Innovare team, a clear priority focus plan from established, each supported by a data-led cost/benefit analysis linked to delivery of real-world tangible benefits, many in readiness for Summer 2019. Re-engineering the roles and functionalities within the main UK based operational control centre (OCC), coupled with the redefinition, interfacing and training for some of their key vertical departments, Innovare developed close working partnerships with the easyJet team to deliver significant business change offering sustained benefit to the operation.

As a now established proven partner to this major European airline, we pride ourselves on delivering results, this was rewarded as Innovare would then secure two additional future phases with the client into March 2020. Amongst others, these initiatives would be aimed at further extending those tangible areas of opportunity to include performance improvement initiatives at main base airports, A-CDM peer reviews at key airports, intelligent pre-tactical and tactical operational interventions and of course, delay and congestion avoidance process re-engineering and bespoke technology deployments.
